a weekly dose of style

update

So a far-too-belated apology is in order for the lack of posts- graduation, work, and birthday shenanigans have taken up most of my time but I am happy to announce that I will be back and *drumroll* am moving to WordPress!

I've had some issues with the format of Blogger as well as some ad control problems. I'll be transferring over in the next few weeks and will hopefully be up and running soon! I will post the link as soon it's up and running. See you there!

page 6

Not so surprising if you saw my last post, I have a surprise post this week! Three cheers for procrastinating school work!

I found this boutique through a friend's pin and immediately fell in love. Page 6 offers a mid-sized selection of cute styles in everything from dresses to accessories.

The first thing I noticed is how much Macbeth brand stuff they carry. For those of you who haven't heard of Macbeth, they are known for their low price point, bright colors and trendy prints. These are two of of my favorites!

Overall, the prices are on the lower side of average. One thing I did note is that they seemed to be sold out of a lot of their super cute stuff.

Head on over to Page 6 and snag some style!

PS. I've been playing with the templates for the blog so for those of you who have been following along, how do you like this template?

tobi: more flower to you sitewide sale

Just a quick post today featuring my current fav for clothing: Tobi.

Tobi is a becoming a fairly well known boutique thanks to word of mouth so I won't waste time discussing the pro's and con's- at least in this post. However, I've included a few of their newest arrivals that I'm currently lusting after.

However, I wanted to let any bargain hunters know that they are having one of their 50% off sitewide sales. These sales are notoriously popular and not as frequent as my closet would like, so stock up because they definitely will sell out of more than a few things (and does anyone else notice that it is always the size you need that goes first?)

Keep in mind that you do have to create an account to shop.

Use code EASYBREEZY50 at checkout for 50% your entire order.

Head over to Tobi now!

I may have a surprise post or two in store for the next couple weeks so be sure to subscribe!

alloy

Happy Monday!

It's the start of another work week but at least our bank accounts will be flush to shop this next site.

Alloy actually doubles as a website for teens and young adults (a la Seventeen.com) and a place to shop.

I think one of the best things about this site is that it has specialty sections for the tall and plus-sized. This isn't something you see frequently in boutiques, especially those that cater to young adults. Alloy also offers discounts for buying 3 or more items which is great for stocking up on basic tees and tanks or even these bikinis!

Right now, they're having a bitchin' special: $20 off an order of $99, so head on over to Alloy.com and snag some style!

Now that spring is in the air, what's your spring fashion must-have?

dainty hooligan

Bank accounts beware of this next boutique.

I am currently in a long-term love affair with this shop. While Dainty Hooligan is starting to make waves on fashion sharing sites such as Pinterest and Wanelo, it still has all the uniqueness and charm of a small town boutique.

I don't think there's a style of clothing this site doesn't carry. Color-coordinated for the viewing pleasure of the OCD-person in all of us, Dainty Hooligan covers the gamut from sexy to business chic to a variety of perfect slouchy tees for binge watching Netflix's House of Cards.

Another awesome feature is that they use an actual model to show off their clothes (Free People actually just started doing this well a la FPxMe). By "real" I mean minimal photoshopping and a model with the BMI of a woman rather than a BMI equivalent to the average chihuahua (I'm looking at you American Apparel). Obviously, one of the biggest risk factors in online shopping is the fact that you can't try it on. By showing you how the clothing looks on a girl who actually resembles the shopper, the shopper can get a better idea of how it will fit them. (though I can't be the only one who sees a gauzy shirt look great on a 5'10'' model and believe it will look just as bitchin' on my 5'3'' frame, can I?)

The average price range is similar to that of the sale prices of more popular stores such as NastyGal and Tobi- just another reason to love this boutique.

Note: While I didn't feature any of their shoes or accessories, Dainty Hooligan offers a huge variety of styles and colors to compliment every piece of their clothing.

mishkah fashion

It's about time this blog went "down under".

It's no secret Australians have some kind of chemical in their water making the Aussie population freakishly beautiful, but they are also a fashionable folk. I have a few Australian-based sites in the queue to review but I thought I'd start off with Mishkah Fashion.

First of all, all of the international boutiques I review offer international shipping, sometimes for free.

Just as Asian and European trends which surpass US trends, Australian fashion is also far ahead of ours. You are almost guaranteed a beautiful and trendy outfit no matter what you order from Mishkah. In fact, I actually am going to let the clothing speak for itself in this post.

One of my favorite things about this store is that it has a rewards program. As they say "the more you shop, the more you get"; for each piece you buy, you accumulate points. You can then use these points to buy more pieces (each piece has a value posted on the details page).

If that's not enough to check them out, here are some more Mishkah pieces.

A final thing to note is that prices are in AU. The Australian dollar is stronger than the US dollar currently so there will be a difference in price (it will be more expensive in US dollars). Because of this, it does qualify as an expensive boutique.

Note: I don't get paid in money, clothing or even gum for these posts. Any opinion on this blog is mine alone and my only sources of influence are my readers and my 8-lb Maltipoo who likes to sleep on my keyboard.

lillies and fillies

So since I'm in bed snuggled up with the pup, Kevin Bacon in The Following, and a glass of only the finest (boxed) wine, I figured I'd do a late-night style review.

The boutique featured in this post is Lilies and Fillies.

They are definitely the smallest boutique I've featured so far. Their site is simple and easy to navigate and they have a noticeably smaller selection than the other sites I've reviewed. However for what they lack in quantity, they make up for in quality. I can honestly say I'd wear the majority of their pieces and their styles range from dressy to casual.

This shop utilizes bright colors and current trends: elephants, bows, and chevron are featured frequently in their designs.

With the dresses a close second, their jewelry section is their main attraction. They have a sizable selection of cute pieces that range from basic to "people may think you bought it at Francescas" chic. I featured a variety of gold and silver designs in this post, but there's even more at their site so be sure to check it out.

Their prices are on the low side for a boutique their size. A shirt or dress from Lillies and Fillies will probably set you back about $20-$30 on average.

So I'm curious: What do you think of the current trends in fashion (such as elephants, owls, and chevron)? Yay or nay? What's your favorite trend so far?
